Perth

Perth is Western Australia’s capital city, and the beginning and ending point for the original 12 day The South West Edge hero route. Perth is a vibrant city where the Swan river meets a hub of activity. Spend an evening discovering Perth’s bar and restaurant scene – you don’t have to stray too far from key accommodation options in order to find some of Perth’s best fine-dining restaurants or take in a sunset and enjoy the idyllic climate at a trendy roof-top bar.

Perth is also home to the historic town of Fremantle, which has a colourful arts scene, plenty of boutique shops for some retail therapy (think unique and vintage finds), plus a gourmet café culture.

From Perth, it’s just a hop, skip & a jump to the famous Rottnest Island; home of WA’s most friendly marsupial – the quokka!

Note: Rottnest ferries take approximately 25 minutes from Fremantle, 45 minutes from Hillarys Boat Harbour, or 90 minutes from Perth’s Barrack Street Jetty.
