Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island is perhaps Western Australia’s most iconic island and home of the country’s happiest marsupial, the quokka.

Here you can hire a bike and explore the many beaches that are perfect for snorkelling, plus Mermaid Pools and blowholes. Meet friendly quokkas and enjoy the Thompson Bay Settlement or hop on a Rottnest seafood tour to experience fresh delicacies before catching the ferry back to the mainland.

The Basin

This unique swimming spot is a favourite with holidaymakers with Its clear turquoise water reflecting the white, sandy bottom.

Just follow the signposts out of the settlement past the tennis courts to this aptly named pool. The bays soft white sand make it perfect for families and relaxing in the sun.
