The Gold Region Tourism Organisation Inc (GRTO) trading as Australia’s Golden Outback (AGO) was established in early 2004 and is the recognised marketing organisation for four tourism precincts – Goldfields, Gascoyne/Murchison, Wheatbelt and Coastal sub-regions. Western Australia’s Golden Outback is a vast and surprisingly diverse region of outback Australia. Covering 54 per cent of the state, AGO provides diverse outback tourism opportunities and holiday destinations. The natural landscape is a dazzling display of outback plains, huge deserts and salt lakes, rugged rocky outcrops, wild woodland, a rainbow of blooming native wildflowers during springtime, and some of the whitest beaches in the world.
